Preschool

I know its been a while since a Cooper update so I will try to cover a lot of stuff in one here!

Cooper has had a pretty exciting couple of months, His 3rd Birthday, 1st day of preschool and many more things have happened.

Cooper's 3rd birthday was another great celebration, it was an awesome Cowboy Party and he had some very special visitors. Grammy, Grandpa Richard, and Uncle Kevin came to town for the celebration as well as Andy's Aunt Diana and Uncle Ernie! We were so glad to have them all here to celebrate with us!

Cooper then started school the very next day. He is attending Notre Dame Catholic Elementary School. He is a preschooler in the ELC. His teachers name is Miss Yvonne, and Miss Marilynn. At first he was pretty hesitant about going to school in a new place with people he didn't know, he cried every morning Mommy and Daddy dropped him off for about 2 weeks (which of course broke mommies heart) after that he has been great, he loves to go to school and play with his new friends. He has learned so much in such a little amount of time.  He can count to 10, he knows all his shapes and colors and he even know some prayers. He brings home artwork everyday (most of them are "monsters" according to him!) He recognizes his name and is learning about letters.

He just participated in the schools fundraiser. The older kids at the elementary school ran a race at the local park and the ELC kids had a box car race. They built their cars in class, painted them, put wheels and lights and licence plates with their name on them. They had the field marked off in a circle and each grade lined up and ran around in a circle.

Spiderman 2012

Cooper's Halloween was great, Farmer Bampa grew some pretty spectacular pumpkins in the garden this year and we had some good pickin's when it came to carving time. Cooper helped Bampa and Uncle Kendall move the pumpkins to the front yard! Our prized possession this year was "The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown" This pumpkin was massive and it kept growing and growing and growing!

We made a cute little pumpkin arrangement for Grandma with the wheel barrel, then Cooper and Bampa took a walk on the retaining wall, played on the rock and hung out for a while outside before it got cold!

When it came time to carve Uncle Kendall took over "The Great Pumpkin" we went with a classic  Jack O Lantern face for the giant pumpkin! Mom made Cooper a special Spiderman Pumpkin...that took forever (What was I thinking?) but ended up being pretty cool!

Before Halloween Cooper found his costume and insisted on putting it on...he was pretty darn excited to be spiderman! I showed him himself in the mirror and captured the best moments, his pure excitement and then him checkin' out his muscles! :) A couple nights before he got a build-a-bear sock monkey and we could not leave without putting the monkey in a spiderman costume (That mind you was not allowed to take his costume off or Cooper got very mad!)

On the day of Halloween Cooper got to play with the neighborhood kids and his cousin Ethan. Kelli and Ethan came over with their dog, Lucky! The boys went trick-or-treating when Ty and Erin came over. Grandma, Grandpa and Auntie Paula came over for the traditional chili beans and finger jello as well! We pulled the boys in the wagon again and stopped at more houses this year, then we made the climb to the Hernandez's where they fed us and kept us company until we decided to walk back home!

Fishin'

http://www.reeledinforlife.org/

Today Cooper went fishing for the very first time! A gentleman at my work runs a non-profit organization that teaches kids how to fish! Despite the cold weather and mist we made our way to lake Lehow this morning for Cooper to learn how to fish!

He learned how to cast a rode, tie knots and about all the different fish, we were then given a rod to go fishin' with! Cooper all bundled up let Bampa take the reel, he cast the pole for Cooper and he would hold on with Bampa! Cooper caught 2 fish and the first one he caught he said "Its a SHARK!!!" I think Cooper had such a great time! He got to see fish, eat  hot dogs, and even saw a family of deers run by! He even got his very own fishing pole to take home! What a great organization, Cooper, Mommy, Bampa and Nana enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be making our way back to Lake Lehow with Reeled in For Life next year!! Thank you to Bob Welle for organizing such a great event! The Shigeno's definitely enjoyed themselves!!
