Playing at the Park!

Today was a beautiful day and Cooper and I have been fighting being sick, he started feeling better yesterday and I started feeling a little better today. Since it was so nice we decided to get some fresh air...we took a walk down to the neighborhood park! Cooper got to swing in the swings and he and I slid down the slide! I don't think he quite understood it all, but he didn't hate it!! We then walked down to the creek where he became very curious about the water, poking his head through the bridge to see the water below!!

Cooper has been fighting bronchiolitis, he visited the doctor because he was coughing and it sounded very wet and flegmy and every time I fed him he spit up because all of the back up in his little throat. He is finally feeling better, still coughing and his nose is running like crazy! There is a large possibility that I have the same thing because I have been coughing like crazy and today my nose has been running like crazy as well! I don't think I am going to like getting sick every time Cooper is, hopefully it doesn't happen every time!

MOPS, Orange Foods, and Rolling Over!

Cooper eating his rice cereal!

Cooper photoshoot 5 Months

Cooper at the Nuggets game...his face says it all! :)
This month Mommy joined a MOPS group (Mothers of Preschoolers) and whats cool about the group I joined is its a night MOPS group and it has a Young MOPS groups so I am part of the young MOPS group! I have gone twice now and I really enjoy it! Its a lot of fun to have some girls my age that have kids as well. It meets every 1st and 3rd Thursday! Last time we had crafts and game night and last night we had a speaker who talked about parenting with Love and Grace. I am very excited to be a part of this group and I think there are some great girls!

A funny Cooper story...Salina had extra tickets to the Nuggets game and so Kendall, Mom, Dad, Cooper and I decided to go...Cooper was NOT happy about this...At first he was fine just chilling with Mom and I and then he went to hang out with Auntie Grandma Salina and Sasha and he got very upset, we thought he was hungry so I made him a bottle, unfortunately we are not allowed to bring our own water in so I had to buy water there and of course the only water they had was freezing cold...so Cooper did not want his bottle because it was too cold! We ended up leaving early but that's OK because the Nuggets were killing the Cavaliers! Needless to say the Nuggets game was a bit much for Mr. Coop...it was too loud and there was too much going on...on a good note...within 5 minutes of sitting down his cute little face was on the jumbo tron! He cant help that he is so cute! :)

In other exciting Cooper news he has started eating fruits and veggies, we started with orange food so he has had sweet potatoes, carrots, and peaches...he has loved them all but I think carrots were his favorite (when he ate them he was always giggling, those carrots are sooo funny!) next he has squash and then we get to move onto green foods! He has also recently started rolling over from his back to his tummy on his own!! Just yesterday I had him laying on the living room ground and all of a sudden he rolled himself over, since then whenever I put him on the ground he practices rolling! Enjoy the little video I caught of him rolling!!

Cooper playing with his Christmas Present!

Cooper's first Christmas was great! He got tons of clothes, toys, and books! His big present is his play saucer! Thank you so much to everyone who helped give Cooper a wonderful Christmas! Christmas in Denver consisted of your typical morning opening presents and eating sausage souffle with Mom, Dad, Grandma, Pepa, Uncle Kendall, Grandpa Great Montoya and Grandpa and Grandma Great Shigeno. Next we went to Grandpa and Grandma Greats house where we ate dinner with the family, it was a great day! The next day Cooper, Andy and I flew to St. Louis! Cooper did amazing on the plane ride, he fell asleep right as the plane was taking off and slept till we landed. When we got to St. Louis, Grammy was preparing an open house for all of their friends to come and meet Cooper! We met so many new people and were so happy to meet them all! The next day we went for a road trip to Andy's uncles house in Illinois where Cooper got to meet his cousins John and Michael. We stayed the night and then in the morning we were off to the farm for Christmas! Cooper and I met Grammy's family and we had a great time opening presents, eating food and playing games! Thank you so much Grammy Great and Grandpa Great for having us over to the farm, it was such a great time!!

Playing with my cousin Ethan
Tomorrow will be the first time I leave Cooper for 4 days :( I've already cried about it once so I can only imagine what I will be like tomorrow! But he is in good hands, He has Grandma and Pepa to play with and I'm sure they will all have a blast! He is also getting babysat by the Hernandez family Saturday while my parents go to a Christmas party! I will be in Springfield, MO for a wedding and graduation!

Next week is Christmas and we are all geared up! Cooper's Daddy will be here and we will have a pretty traditional day, morning present opening, and afternoon and dinner at my Grandparents. After Christmas we head out to St. Louis to visit Andy's family for the holidays. We are looking forward to the next couple weeks even tho they will be crazy busy!

We have been practicing rolling over and Cooper has rolled a couple times from his tummy to his back! He has also started YELLING! and instead of talking now he just yells (its pretty cute) even the girls at my dads physical therapy were missing him so we went and visited while Pepa exercised and at the office he greeted everyone who came in with a AHHHH!!!

Here are some videos of Cooper rolling and of him playing with his favorite monkey!

The Holiday Season

Cooper in his adorable raccoon outfit and hat!

Tummy Time!
We are trying to get him use to a hat for the cold Colorado winter!
Cooper loves to hold, grab and play with toys
Especially his monkey!

Cooper has been battling with his poor little left eye. I have taken him to the doctor twice for it and they have given us two different eye drops that dont seem to be helping, his eye gets swollen, it fills up with green/yellow goop and I have to constantly clean it out! He has another appointment today with the doctors and hopefully they can figure out what it is and take care of it. (I will write an update after his appointment.)

Other than that Cooper is doing great, he is such a joy and so much fun to play with. Grandpa Jeff is home from knee replacement surgery and I am sure Cooper enjoys having someone other than Mom to play with during the day!

We are looking forward to the holiday season, although it will be very busy. For Thanksgiving Andy, Grammy, Auntie Diana, and Uncle Kevin are coming to visit and meet Cooper. Early December I am flying to Springfield, MO for a friends wedding and a friends Graduation for 4 days. I will be leaving Cooper with my parents and I am nervous to be away from him for so long, but I am looking forward to my trip. Andy will be here for Christmas to help us celebrate Cooper's first Christmas and then after that Cooper, Andy and I will be flying to St. Louis to visit Andy's family for the holidays! THEN...Cooper, Andy and I will be flying back to Denver for New Years which is a big holiday for my family! So it will be an exciting couple of weeks with Coop's first X-mas and first flight!

Fall Break

Cooper's 2 Month Stats

Weight: 13 lbs 5.5oz 84%
Height: 23 1/2 inches 69%
Head: 40.2 cm 53%

Cooper had a most wonderful weekend! His Daddy got to spend his fall break in Denver with Cooper! Andy was able to go with us to Cooper's 2 month check up where Doctor Mike said all was well and Cooper looked great! Cooper also got his first set of shots, the shots themselves we not that bad but later that evening Cooper was upset and fussy from a sore leg :( But he got a great Dads weekend in where his daddy got to feed him, talk to him, and even give him a bath! And he got spoiled once again because his daddy held him all weekend long! It was a great weekend and I know both Cooper and Andy enjoyed it! Next visit is after Thanksgiving and Coopers Grammy, Uncle, and Auntie will be here as well!

Cooper is becoming more and more vocal, finding his voice and realizing all the fun noises he can make! He is constantly making me smile and laugh with all of his expressions! He has also discovered his hands and has them constantly in his mouth, he hasn't quite gotten the fingers in but he likes to suck on his pointer knuckle!

the many faces of Cooper!

Happy 8 weeks to meee!! Cooper turned 8 weeks old on Thursday and hes of course becoming more and more fun! We noticed his eyes may be getting a little green in them and his hair definitely has a little wave to it and it a dark auburn color! He is full of smiles and goos! Grandpa Jeff has been able to babysit while Mama escapes for a little while, but I don't like being away from him for long!

Cooper's cousin Ethan came to visit this weekend and boy does Ethan like Cooper, he gave him lots of hugs and loved to touch him! He even told me "i like his toes, the little one especially!"

Cooper's 2 month appointment is this Friday and his daddy, Andy, comes to town on Thursday so we are very excited to show him all the fun things we can do now!!

well turn up your volume and watch this little clip I got of Cooper chatting with Mommy this morning! and ENJOY!!!

Rock me to sleep!

We are so excited because we bought a great old school rocking chair from the Paris Market this weekend! Cooper and I love to rock in it and fall asleep, and it is sooo comfy!! Now that he is sleeping in his big boy bed he sleeps for longer amounts of time, he is only waking up twice at night and is sleeping for 3-6 hour stretches (mommy likes having longer amounts of time to sleep too!) Uncle Kendall has held him twice now...LAME! But we think hes becoming less scared and maybe he will hold him more often now?! He has also started to sit in his little Bumbo chair and he really likes it too! Every morning we get lots of smiles and he is talking lots! He makes all kinds of fun little sounds!! Everyday is a new adventure for us and we are havin a blast!!
