Cooper had a most wonderful weekend! His Daddy got to spend his fall break in Denver with Cooper! Andy was able to go with us to Cooper's 2 month check up where Doctor Mike said all was well and Cooper looked great! Cooper also got his first set of shots, the shots themselves we not that bad but later that evening Cooper was upset and fussy from a sore leg :( But he got a great Dads weekend in where his daddy got to feed him, talk to him, and even give him a bath! And he got spoiled once again because his daddy held him all weekend long! It was a great weekend and I know both Cooper and Andy enjoyed it! Next visit is after Thanksgiving and Coopers Grammy, Uncle, and Auntie will be here as well!

Cooper is becoming more and more vocal, finding his voice and realizing all the fun noises he can make! He is constantly making me smile and laugh with all of his expressions! He has also discovered his hands and has them constantly in his mouth, he hasn't quite gotten the fingers in but he likes to suck on his pointer knuckle!

Happy 8 weeks to meee!! Cooper turned 8 weeks old on Thursday and hes of course becoming more and more fun! We noticed his eyes may be getting a little green in them and his hair definitely has a little wave to it and it a dark auburn color! He is full of smiles and goos! Grandpa Jeff has been able to babysit while Mama escapes for a little while, but I don't like being away from him for long!

Cooper's cousin Ethan came to visit this weekend and boy does Ethan like Cooper, he gave him lots of hugs and loved to touch him! He even told me "i like his toes, the little one especially!"

Cooper's 2 month appointment is this Friday and his daddy, Andy, comes to town on Thursday so we are very excited to show him all the fun things we can do now!!

Rock me to sleep!

We are so excited because we bought a great old school rocking chair from the Paris Market this weekend! Cooper and I love to rock in it and fall asleep, and it is sooo comfy!! Now that he is sleeping in his big boy bed he sleeps for longer amounts of time, he is only waking up twice at night and is sleeping for 3-6 hour stretches (mommy likes having longer amounts of time to sleep too!) Uncle Kendall has held him twice now...LAME! But we think hes becoming less scared and maybe he will hold him more often now?! He has also started to sit in his little Bumbo chair and he really likes it too! Every morning we get lots of smiles and he is talking lots! He makes all kinds of fun little sounds!! Everyday is a new adventure for us and we are havin a blast!!

Gaining my Personality!

Cooper is changing more and more each day...he has started to smile while hes awake and he is gaining his own little personality! Here are a few pictures of him being adorable and goofy!

He has also graduated from his cradle in Mommy's room to the crib in his own room!
Its amazing how fast hes changed, he goes to the doctor in another couple weeks and I am so excited to see how much he weights and how long he is! Also, Daddy will be here for his doctors visit so that will be exciting!!

On a Mommy note, I have officially started running again! I am on an every other day jogging routine and it feel amazing to be running again, cant wait to get that pre-pregnancy body back!

Happy One Month Birthday!!!

Cooper is one month old today! My how time flies! Hes growing like a weed, hes even getting a bit heavy for mommy to carry! :) He has definitely grown out of newborn and even some of his 0-3 months clothes...so we are moving to 3 month and 3-9 months! WOW!

He has become more and more active, but he still spends the majority of his time sleeping! When hes awake he is trying so hard to talk and make noises and he is so strong, he plays fly baby with Pepa Jeff and he holds his head so well! Mommy even thinks hes gonna skip crawling and go straight to walking! Hes still cuddly as ever and would rather sleep in arms than in a bed or swing! (or maybe we just have him that spoiled?!) oh well you cant spoil a little boy enough!

Cooper is so blessed to have an amazing family, no matter the circumstances! This labor day weekend Cooper's Dad, Grandma, and Grandpa came out to visit from St. Louis! It was his first time meeting Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Richard and he is so excited to meet his Aunt and Uncle too!! He had a great weekend where he got spoiled and held almost 24 7! :)

Cooper also got to take his first real bath this weekend! His umbilical cord finally fell off and we were able to put him in his tubby! I was worried he was not going to like it but he loved it, not a single cry! He did however pee twice when we put him in the water! I also was able to coax Uncle Kendall into finally holding the little guy! (he was sitting on the couch with his arms crossed so I just plopped him in his arms, he had no choice!)

All in all life is good for the Coop man! He is extremely blessed, loved and spoiled...what more could a baby ask for??

9lbs and GROWING!!!!

Cooper visited Dr. Mike yesterday! Hes doing great, hes sooo strong and very healthy, he already weighs 9lbs 2oz!!! He has been on a pretty good schedule eating every 3-4 hours! Today we went for a long walk and he really loves the stroller, he cooed the whole way and every time I checked on him he had a huge smile on his face!!!

I wish I could put more pictures on the blog but my mom and I have taken so many that there is not enough room! So instead I have another website for you all to visit where you can all see ALL the pictures of Cooper!

Hello everyone, Cooper here! I thought I would update you on all the fun stuff I've done in my first week of life! I of course get to sleep, eat, and get changed with Mommy...but we also like to cuddle, read and practice our running legs! I get to play and take baths with Grammy Josie and shes loved on me allll week! I've even already posed for my first photoshoot! When Pepa Jeff gets home we get to play and I love to kick and smile with him! :) I have also had lots of fun visitors this week! Grandma Auntie Salina and Tia Sasha have come to say hi and "squish me" and neighbor Rileigh and Christy have come to say hi too! Just one week old and I've got it pretty good! I sure am one loved little man!!

Life is GOOD!

Perfection!

A new little man has entered the world! And I may be a bit bias but hes perfect! he entered this world on August 19th, 2010 at 12:23pm...he weighted a whopping 8lbs and was 20 inches long with a 13 inch round head!

That night I never really fell asleep, around 2:00AM I started feeling contractions but they were light, long and not very frequent. My mom woke up and checked on me and told me if I was it was ok, it would be a while and I should try and fall back asleep...and so I did...around 5:45 I woke up mom and dad and told them "they are getting really strong" so mom got in the shower and dad sat with me while we timed my contractions...when mom got out of the shower dad said "umm they are like a minute apart" and so mom rushed to get ready and we headed to Littleton Hospital! we arrived at 6:30. When we got to the room the nurse hooked me up to the monitors and said we are gonna monitor you and maybe have you walk around a little...when she left mom and dad watched my contractions on the monitor and said wow they are strong and close!? another nurse came in and asked if I had been checked, she checked me and said "wow your dialated to 7 cm, we need to get you that epidural!" we got the epidural and then I stayed dialated at 8cm for a while so they added petosin to my iv to push me over! I pushed for about 30 mins and Dr. Abman came in and delivered Cooper!

The past few days have been fun and amazing! We have had many visitors and we are getting use to this new and exciting world! We are now working on getting on a schedule (we might have day and night a little backwords because we are eating every 2 hours at night and sleeping for 3 or more hour stretches during the day!)

Waiting is hard to do!

Anxious is an understatement when it comes to this little guy! Its only 8 days away and I (and I think everyone else) am so ready to meet Cooper! Last time I asked the doctor she said he probably weighed 6 1/2 lbs! *hopefully he doesn't get much bigger! yikes! Mondays doctors appointment went well, she said that I could go into labor anytime now...how crazy! I am getting less nervous and more excited, which is probably a good thing...the only thing I keep worrying about is not know what contractions feel like, but mom has assured me that I will know when its happening!

We cant wait to hold, squeeze and shower this little bundle of joy with love! All of the bags are packed and everything is ready to go, hopefully when it happens I will be able to blog about it soon after...and get some pictures up asap! I know everyone will be so excited to see him! (but not as excited as me :)

King of the Jungle Baby Shower!

I think Cooper and I got everything we needed so far! Here are some of the great pictures we got at the shower!

I want to thank everyone who came to the shower! It was really great and we got everything we needed and more! We had so much fun and i'm glad my whole family could be here! We played alot of fun games including draw the baby on your head, whos water breaks first, measure the belly and had a great diaper raffle! (Thank you everyone for all of the diapers, we should be set for a while now!!)

I would definitely like the thank my mom, Salina, Sasha, and Mary! They put together a great party and were awesome hostesses! All in all it was a successful baby shower!

We cant wait to meet the little monkey! Its coming so soon! I'll keep you all posted! :)

Cooper S

Coop and I went to the Doc again last friday! I gained tons more weight...I'm up to 124lbs! So all is good on that front! Everything else is good, he is measuring well, his little heartbeat is good and the doc says all the swelling is normal due to the end of the pregnancy and the heat! He put on a little show while the doc was taking his heartbeat, he was squirming the whole time! :)

The shower is this weekend, Mom and I have been preparing some fun games and Sash and Salina helped us with everything else this weekend! Looking forward to seeing everyone!

In other news...The exercise ball suggested by my Lamaze teacher has been a major relief on the back and belly and I've also been swimming/floating a lot in the Hernandez pool which is really helping with the swollen feet and ankles! Its getting so close now and the excitement is just building up inside of me! I don't even care if hes going to keep me up all night, I just want to meet him and hold him in my arms! (I'm sure this will change once I actually do have him keeping me up all night :)

Yesterday I had my check up at the Drs. I got a GOLD STAR because I gained 5 more lbs and the baby measured perfect! I also had cool hair, and a shirt that not just anyone could wear :) oh and the nurse said I was just the cutest darn thing shes ever seen!

Today I had Lamaze class, I somehow talked my mom into going with! It was fun, and funny, and informational! It was a 6 hr class but it also included a tour at the end! I was of course the only non couple but that's OK my mom was good to have and she was actually able to help and share some of her stories and experience! I wont go into detail about what we learned but I do feel good about the upcoming events and well prepared for labor and delivery!

The days are counting down quickly

Hey guys, I thought this would be a good way to keep you updated on my journey to motherhood! The days are slowly fading away and soon there will be a new little man in my life! I can't wait to meet him and get to know him. Everyday that goes by I get more and more excited, I have about 6 weeks left and hes growing quickly now, my last doctors visit I got an ultrasound because the doctor was worried that I'm not gaining enough weight and that my stomach was measuring small, but during the ultrasound the ultrasound technician said that he was growing perfectly! He weighed 4lbs 6oz. I go to see my doctor again tomorrow, I know according to my family they have never seen me eat sooo much so hopefully I'm gaining more weight and the doctor will be happy with that!

July 31th is the baby shower! I have sent you all invites and hope you can make it, I know some of you out of towners will not be able to but I wanted to include you as well! I am registered at Babies-R-US and Target under Kimberly Shigeno!

We have the room all ready for Coopers arrival...my mom has been an amazing help, shes bought the crib and all the bedding (its jungle themed) and I know that her and my dad are just as excited to meet Cooper as I am! They even talk to him, sing to him and bribe him to come out with cookies! Hes even given Grandpa a high five! :)
